Prof. Louis Hardan
Head of the Department of Conservative and Aesthetic Dentistry at Saint Joseph University in Beirut. From 2019, head of postgraduate studies, from 2021 coordinator of specialization in prosthetic and aesthetic dentistry. He graduated from dentistry in 1989, then continued his education at the University of Saint Joseph; he obtained a diploma in basic sciences in 1993, a specialization in conservative and aesthetic dentistry in 1995, and a doctorate in oral biology and dental materials in 2009. He was an active board member of the Lebanese Dental Association (LDA) (2006-2009), and in 2009 he was appointed secretary general of the LDA. He is now a full professor at Saint Joseph's University and runs a dental practice in his hometown in Byblos.
He is an honorary and active member of the international Styleitaliano group and its scientific director. From 2020, he is the President of the European Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (ESCD) in Lebanon, from 2021 he is a certified member of the ESCD, member of the ESCD board and chairman of international affairs. He is the creator of the Smile Lite MDP (Smile Line, Switzerland) device for taking high-quality dental images with a mobile phone (winner of the 2017 award for the best technology in the USA) and the Posterior Misura instrument (LM device) for making direct composite restorations. Prof. Hardan has numerous publications in indexed and international high-impact journals, chapters in international dental books. He is the author of the book: "Protocols for mobile dental photography with auxillary lighting" Quintessence Publishing 2020, and has conducted many international lectures and courses in the field of aesthetic dentistry, restorative and mobile dental photography.
